WYNYARD, UK – Venator Materials UK Limited (“Venator”) today announced the sale of its driers book of business to Ege Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (“Ege Kimya”), a leading global supplier of metal-based chemical solutions.
This transaction includes the transfer of product formulations, trademarks, and technical know-how associated with Venator’s driers business. As part of the agreement, Venator’s Birtley, UK site, which manufactures driers products, will continue to operate in the short term to support continuity of supply for customers.
“This transaction ensures that our valued driers customers will continue to be served by a specialist business with deep expertise in this space,” said Karen Askwith, Managing Director at Venator. “We recognise this news brings uncertainty for our team at Birtley and I want to thank each of our colleagues for their professionalism, commitment, and contribution over many years. Consultation with Birtley employees has already begun, and we remain focused on managing this transition responsibly, and securing a stable future for our remaining UK businesses.”
Ege Kimya has a robust global presence and extensive experience in paints and coatings additives, strengthening continuity of service and supply to customers.
Venator’s remaining UK businesses, including the Greatham site which manufactures titanium dioxide pigment, continue to operate as normal. Active sales discussions are ongoing with interested parties to secure the long-term future of these facilities.
