Venator is pleased to share that their Greatham Site was recently awarded the Better Health at Work bronze award, showcasing their commitment to the health, safety, and happiness of associates on-site.
Rob Portsmouth, Executive Vice President, Sustainability, EHS and HR, shared his comments: “I am delighted that the hard work and vision of the team at Greatham has been recognised in this way. This initiative has made a real and positive difference to the health of many people and it’s great to see the site team earning this prestigious award.”
The Better Health at Work award was presented to Greatham site on October 30, by Brenda Harrison from Hartlepool Borough Council. She commended the site on their achievement and mentioned that this initiative is a great example of caring for employees.
During the presentation, Helen Plummer and Andy Nicholson, who have led this project, highlighted some of the campaigns and initiatives that Greatham has taken part in which has resulted in this incredible achievement.
Helen Plummer, Greatham HR Manager, commented: “Promoting a healthy workplace for our associates has been our goal and the Better Health at Work award provided us with the support and guidance to help us to structure our campaigns and remain focused.
“Our team of health advisors have been instrumental in building engagement from our associates and in some instances their friends and families. We look forward to commencing our next annual program and working towards the silver standard”.
As part of their work towards Better Health at Work award, Greatham has taken part in various health campaigns across site, such as testicular cancer awareness, mental health awareness week, and melanoma events. As well as this, the site has created a well-being hub, which is a place associates can go to learn more about their health, take quiet time to relax and re-energize, and engage in well-being activities.
Greatham is incredibly proud of this achievement and will be working towards the silver award in the coming months.
